FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

In this section we will attempt to answer questions related to our services, that are frequently asked by the Indian agents about various issues related to making bookings with us, payment policies, and other queries of generic nature. We invite you to go through the list below.

The list is not exhaustive, and should you have any query that is not covered  by these FAQs, please feel free to send us a mail, and we will endeavour to answer it to your satisfaction.

  • General / Bookings Related
General queries related to booking procedures etc.
  • How do I make a booking with Continental HK ?

If you know the details of person handling your company's account, please send your mail directly to her / him, with a copy to admin@continentalhktravel.com.

In case you are not sure about who handles your account, or if this is your first query, please send your mail to admin@continentalhktravel.com. We will forward the mail to the concerned person, with a copy to you. Subsequent mails can be sent directly to the concerned person with copy to admin@continentalhktravel.com.

  • Can your India Rep office give us a quote directly ? It will help to save time.

Unfortunately, hotels in Hong Kong & Macau follow a dynamic pricing policy, due to which the rates keep fluctuating, depending on the demand. Since India Rep office is not in direct touch with the hotels, it is not possible for them to give you a quotation directly.

They will, however, be able to answer any general queries that you may have about the services and destinations.

  • Do I need to register on your website ?

We do request you to kindly register on https://india-agents.continentalhktravel.com/tariffs/, where you will be able to access the tariff sheets, promotions, as well as printable tour descriptions for your ready reference. The printable tour descriptions can be printed and handed over to the clients also, as they do not carry any pricing. Also, once you register, you will automatically be added to our mailing list as well.

However, with reference to the rates for Hong Kong, Disneyland & Macau, we would also like to remind you once again that due to the dynamic nature of the HKG & MFM markets, the hotels keep varying their rates, depending on demand.

Whilst every effort is made to honour the rates quoted on the uploaded tariff sheets, it sometimes becomes difficult to offer confirmations on the given rates, if the actual rates quoted by the hotel are too high, and it would be highly appreciated if you could kindly cross-check the rates with us prior to quoting.

  • Why can’t I simply take the rates from your tariff sheets instead of having to send a mail each time ?

With reference to the rates for Hong Kong, Disneyland & Macau, we would like to remind you once again that due to the dynamic nature of the HKG & MFM markets, the hotels keep varying their rates, depending on demand.

This would ensure the accuracy of the quote being given to you.

  • I have received a quotation and would like to reconfirm it. What do I do next ?

Once you have accepted a quotation, you will need to convey the same by email to the staff concerned. Upon receiving your confirmation mail, they will send you a Confirmation / Finalization mail, either with an Option Date, in case it is possible to hold it on time limit, OR they will ask you to guarantee the booking, in case the travel date is close, or if the hotel is only accepting guaranteed bookings due to a tight availability situation.

If booked with an Option Date, the deadline for guaranteeing the booking will be mentioned on the confirmation mail.

  • How do I guarantee the booking ?

To guarantee the booking, you simply need to send a mail to the concerned staff stating that you guarantee the booking. Upon receiving the guarantee mail, they will send you a Finalization mail with all the details of the booking, and subsequently, the accounts will raise an invoice, which needs to be settled by you as per the deadline given by accounts.

  • Accounts & Payments Related
Questions related to accounting & payment procedures etc.
  • I have just guaranteed a booking. What do I do next ?

Once you guarantee a booking, the concerned reservations staff will send you a Finalization mail with the tentative itinerary, and shortly thereafter, you will receive an invoice from the Accounts department, along with the details required for the Bank Transfer and the payment deadline.

You will need to ensure that your payment is remitted within the given deadline by Telegraphic Transfer to the Hong Kong account of Continental HK (in case of Hong Kong, Macau & China bookings) OR to the Philippines account of Kingstar Holidays (in case of Thailand & Philippines bookings).

  • Do you collect payments in India ?

Please note that the function of the India Rep Office is limited to Marketing & Coordination, and as such, they are not involved in any selling on our behalf. Accordingly, they do not collect any payments in India and all payments to Continental HK are by way of Bank Transfer only.

  • Who bears the Bank Charges for the remittance ?

Please note that the following will be effective for all new bookings WEF 01 June 2018 -

Please note that a sum of USD 30 will be added on the total booking amount towards Bank Charges for Remittance. In the event of a short receipt in our account due to your local or intermediary bank charges being deducted from the received amount, we would be constrained to ask you to make this payment to us.

  • Do you accept Online Payments by Credit Card ?

Currently, we can only accept online payments through Paypal. You may choose to make the payment to us online by using the Paypal Payment Gateway, by filling in the details of your payment in the online payment form provided. • Can I make the payment in Hong Kong Dollars ?

It may kindly be noted that the remitted amount should reach us in US Dollars ONLY.

Kindly instruct your bank that the amount SHOULD NOT be converted to Hong Kong Dollars, as we lose money on such conversions made by the bank.

In case you wish to make the remittance in Hong Kong Dollars, please let us know in advance so that we can send you the invoice in HKD, after applying the appropriate conversion rate.

  • Can I get a credit facility with Continental HK ?

Unsecured credit, unfortunately, is not possible. However, we would be happy to provide you credit against a floating deposit or a Bank Guarantee. In such cases, the credit limit is equal to the amount of the deposit or BG, or a period of 15 days, whichever is reached earlier.

Extension of the credit facility is at the sole discretion of Continental HK.
